UTM - Open New Facility
A new, state-of-the-art facility at University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) will address the need for more space on a campus that has seen enrollment double in the past decade.
Late in August of 2011 the Instructional Centre opened its doors. The 3-story building will accommodate as many as 2,500 students at a time, in classrooms as large as the 500-seat lecture hall or as small as the study rooms, which will house 30 students. There is plenty of dedicated study space with private rooms and larger group study rooms that will cater to the nees of the Mississauga road campus' 12,000 students.
To point out some of the environmental features of the building -- solar panels, a geothermal heating and cooling system, and energy-efficient lighting. This building will set the stage for future growth. It provides the tools and new forms of learning and communication students need in today's world.
